The Kelly Initiative is honored and excited to extend a unique enrichment opportunity to a cohort of 4 fashion/lifestyle writers over the course of a 6-month fellowship. Each month, each fellow will:
Author a 1000-1500 word introduction and Q&A profile of an assigned subject (a dynamic Black fashion professional). Fellows will work with writer/editor and The Kelly Initiative’s Co-founder, Kibwe Chase-Marshall throughout this process, engaging current industry best practices regarding interview requests, interview recording archiving, copy filing, etc.
Fellow-generated pieces will be published at TheKellyIniative.net, on the @TheKellyInitiative Instagram account, and may be potentially pitched by The Kelly Initiative to a range of media outlets.
Engage with the cohort of fellows in a facilitated 1-2hr discussion (via Zoom digital meeting) regarding a seminal work of fashion/lifestyle journalism, often considering the impact of Black professionals within the broader fashion industry.
